Not much to add to “smeargate” as it’s called – congratulations due to Paul Staines for pushing blogging into the Big Leagues – Labour fought the blogs, and the blogs won.

But it occurs to me that this is a no-win situation for Brown. Assuming he knew, then he’s sanctioning the very worst form of gutter politics. If he didn’t know, then he’s completely out of control.

Either way, doesn’t look very good.
