The LDs have had it pretty good so far. Their popularity has leapt to 22% in one poll, but it seems unthinkable that this party will escape the Telegraph’s – and the public’s – wrath.
Personally, I’m dreading it.
We already have some clues about what to expect. Here’s a name that’s not especially well known outside of LD circles, but within he has practically messianic status as the mastermind of our entire approach to campaigning. I don’t think we’ve heard the last of this.
The Lib Dems have made a big point of demanding that those who live within commute distance of Westminster don’t claim for second hopes. Those within the Lib Dem party are, one suspects, ritually sacrificed.
Nick, I don’t envy what you’re facing, but I beg you – do what you have to do.
