    What is a Craft blog?

A blog about arts and crafts, that sort of thing. I think.

A Spoonful of Sugar (No. 11) needs to be seen to be believed. Each to their own, but does its rise demonstrate the quality of inspirational ideas elsewhere in blogosphere? I hope not. Don’t lose the will to live, CG. :-)

The Dave Osler jump is interesting – shows how Wikio can respond to big stories (a good thing). That is likely to be mainly the massive response to Black-Forest-Gateau-Gate.

Simply by publishing these rankings (inc the HTML link), you (and many others who do this) are consolidating the positions of anyone in the top 30, distorting the true picture (i.e. who is actually being linked to for “proper” reasons, rather than to record their position in the Wikio list) and making it that much more difficult for anyone outside the Top 30 to break in. You do realise this, don’t you?

Yes, I do. They do usually avoid giving the previews to high ranking sites (possibly for this reason) – I was a last minute alternative as the original person they asked pulled out.

    I don’t think I’ll do it again.

We use to simply buy bottom entry to the Uk charts,

I remember once in Fulham, at a wine bar, somebody congratulating me, and hoping something would be in the top ten, at the end of the week, I told her I couldn’t afford it.

Isn’t the internet fairer by comparison – I don’t know, I gave up on technology, when they abolished phonographic stamping.

I predicted CDs would never catch on because you couldn’t rooll a joint on a CD sleeve.

I was half right, sort of.
